Welcome

BEC is a group of people who aim to make the message of Jesus, and the teaching of the Bible, accessible, understandable, and relevant to everyone. Our vision and mission is to make the good news of Jesus available to those who as yet don’t know him.

Furthermore:

1. We are committed to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. That is why we meet together to encourage and help one another to make that a reality.

Martha, one of Jesus first disciples, said, “Yes, Lord; I believe that you are the Christ, the Son of God, who was to come into the world.” (John 11:27) Following the resurrection Thomas’ came to the place where even he acknowledged Jesus as, “My Lord and my God!” (John 20:28 )

2. We are committed to the Bible as God’s word

Two of Jesus’ most significant apostles wrote the following: “All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness.” (Paul in 2 Timothy 3:16) “No prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet’s own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.” (Peter in 2 Peter 1:20-21)

3. We are committed to making the good news about Jesus known

Jesus’ final commanded to his followers was this: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:18-20)

4. We are committed to one another as part of God’s family

Through our friendship

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and all the more as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:24-25) “Love one another deeply, from the heart.” (1 Peter 1:22)

Through our prayer

“Devote yourselves to prayer being watchful and thankful. And pray for us, too, that God may open the door for our message,” (Colossians 4:2-4) “I thank my God in all my remembrance of you, always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy.” (Philippians 1:3-4)

Through our serving

“Each one should use whatever gift he has recieved to serve others,” (1 Peter 4:10) “There are different kinds of service but the same Lord.” (1 Corinthians 12:5)

Through our giving

Our giving ought to reflect the way God has treated us. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich.” (2 Corinthians 8:9)
